St. Mark's Bell Tower is 99m in height, making it the tallest structure in Venice. Built in the 9th century, it was intended as a lighthouse and watch tower. The tower was repeatedly modified through 1514, at which time it came acquired the dimensions that inform the replica that stand today. From the top of the bell tower, you can see literally all of Venice. A trip to Venice is not quite complete without a trip to this breathtaking achievement.
